About This Species
Look for a brightly coloured parrot feeding on the ground in open woodland, parks and gardens across southeastern Australia, often in pairs or small flocks, most active around dawn and dusk. Its bold red, yellow and blue plumage makes it easy to identify even at a distance, and it is often approachable in urban parkland where it has grown used to people.
