Mealy Parrot

A large, mostly green Amazon parrot of lowland forest canopy across Central and South America, most conspicuous at dawn and dusk when noisy flocks fly out to feed or return to roost. Look and listen for pairs or small groups moving high overhead with deep, rolling calls, and for birds gathered at riverside clay licks in some regions. Fruiting and flowering canopy trees are worth watching, since flocks often return to the same productive trees over several days.
