About This Species
Look for this amazon parrot in dry tropical forest, thorn scrub and forest edge, often in pairs or small flocks flying between fruiting trees with harsh, squawking calls. Its white forehead and red eye-ring are visible at reasonably close range when it is perched and feeding. Early morning, when flocks move between roost and feeding sites, generally offers the best activity.

- Watch feeding or roosting flocks from a distance rather than approaching fruiting trees directly, since parrots are highly sensitive to disturbance and will abandon a feeding site if repeatedly pressed.
