About This Species
Look for a large, heavy-billed crow with an all-black glossy plumage in both forested hills and urban areas across South, East and Southeast Asia, where it is a familiar and vocal presence. Its deep, resonant caw and habit of foraging boldly in markets, parks and forest edges alike make it easy to find. It is present year-round, so any season offers reliable viewing, though early morning foraging activity is often most conspicuous.
