About This Species
This small, plain flycatcher favours scrubby edges, gardens and open woodland across Central and South America, where it perches upright and sallies out for small insects. Its descending, whistled call is distinctive and often the easiest way to locate it among denser foliage. Present year-round in most of its range, it is most active and vocal in the early morning.
