Common Bulbul

A noisy, conspicuous bird of gardens, scrub and woodland edges across much of Africa, usually detected first by its bubbling, cheerful call before it comes into view perched in the open. It forages low in bushes and on the ground for fruit and insects, and is bold enough to visit feeders and fruiting trees close to houses. Early morning and late afternoon, when it sings from prominent perches, are the easiest times to get a clear look.
