Sombre Greenbul

This skulking forest and thicket bird stays low in dense canopy and tangled understorey, more often heard than seen — listen for its harsh, chattering song from coastal scrub and riverine bush in eastern and southern Africa. It forages methodically for fruit and insects among foliage rather than flying in the open, so patient, quiet waiting near fruiting shrubs at dawn or dusk gives the best chance of a clear view.
