Small Minivet

A small, active minivet of open woodland, scrub and cultivated land across South and Southeast Asia, usually seen moving through the mid-canopy in loose flocks gleaning insects from foliage and outer branches. Males show orange-and-grey plumage while females are yellow-tinged, and flocks often mix with other small insectivorous birds. Listen for their thin, high-pitched contact calls as a group works its way through a stand of trees, most active in the cooler hours of early morning.
