Grassland Yellow-Finch

Found in open grassland, pampas and pasture across much of South America, often in loose flocks feeding on grass seeds and low vegetation near the ground. Look for a small, streaky yellow-and-olive bird perched on grass stems or fence wires, most active and vocal in the early morning. Non-breeding flocks can gather in fields alongside other seedeaters, making winter mornings the easiest time to pick one out.
