Listen for its loud, ringing, musical song in the understorey of humid lowland forest, where this wren forages low down among leaf litter, tangles and fallen branches. It is often easier to hear than to see, staying close to the ground in dense cover. Early morning in the wetter months, when singing activity peaks, gives the best chance of a clear view.
