About This Species
Look and listen in the mid-to-upper canopy of broadleaf and mixed forest, where this small drongo sallies out after flying insects, often joining mixed-species foraging flocks. Its metallic, chattering calls carry well through forest and are usually the first clue to its presence. Forest edges and clearings in the drier months, when insect activity and visibility are both higher, tend to offer the clearest views.

- Observe from below the canopy rather than trying to get close to perches, since disturbance can break up the mixed-species flocks it associates with.
