About This Species
A dabbling duck of South American lakes, marshes and slow rivers, often seen upending in shallow water or grazing on adjacent grassland. Look for its mottled brown body and bright yellow bill as it feeds in small groups, most easily found on wetlands and altiplano lakes across the Andes and southern South America year-round.
