About This Species
A conspicuous flycatcher of coastal scrub, mangroves and open country with scattered perches across the Caribbean and southeastern United States. It sits prominently on wires or bare branches, sallying out after insects, and gives a harsh, rattling call. Spring and summer, during the breeding season in Florida and the Caribbean, is when it is most visible and vocal.
