Chalk-Browed Mockingbird

A common bird of open grassland, cerrado and farmland across much of central and southern South America, often seen perched prominently on fence posts, shrubs or bare ground where it forages for insects. Its varied, mimicking song, often delivered from an exposed perch, is one of the most reliable ways to locate it, especially during the breeding season. It is confiding around houses and roadsides, making close views easy to obtain without much effort.
