About This Species
A skulking babbler of forest understorey and dense scrub, endemic to Taiwan, usually located by its loud, whistled song before it is seen. Look and listen along shaded forest trails and bamboo thickets at low to mid elevations, where it forages close to the ground for insects year-round.

- Wait quietly near cover rather than pursuing a calling bird into dense vegetation, since babblers of this kind readily go silent and retreat if pressed.
