White-Browed Scrub Robin

A slim, ground-dwelling songbird of dry savanna, thicket and scrubby woodland across sub-Saharan Africa, more often heard than seen as it forages low in cover. Look for a bird hopping and running along the ground or low branches with a habit of cocking and fanning its rufous tail, and listen for its rich, varied song, often given from a low perch at dawn. Areas with dense low scrub and leaf litter tend to hold the best numbers.
