About This Species
Watch open country, farmland and areas near water for this swallow hawking insects low over fields or perched in loose groups on wires and fence lines. Its glossy blue-green back and white underparts are distinctive in good light as it wheels and dives after flying insects. Austral spring and summer, when insect activity peaks, are the best times to see active feeding flocks.
