Slender-Billed Gull

A pale, elegant gull of coastal lagoons, salt pans and shallow estuaries across the Mediterranean and parts of Central Asia, nesting colonially on bare or sparsely vegetated ground near water. Look for a slim build, long thin bill and a faint pink flush to the underparts in breeding plumage, often associating with terns and other gulls at productive feeding sites. Breeding colonies are most active and visible in late spring and early summer.
