About This Species
This saltator inhabits dense scrub, forest edge and garden thickets in Central America, where it forages for fruit, seeds and insects while staying largely within cover. It is often detected by its rich, varied song delivered from a hidden perch rather than by sight. Early morning listening near brushy edges gives the best chance of tracking one down.
